Most dismantling yards run on three things at once: a spreadsheet only one person fully understands, a phone that rings all day, and a marketplace listing that takes a cut of every sale and keeps the customer afterwards.

None of those are bad tools. They just are not a system. The spreadsheet cannot tell you which vehicle a part came off two years later. The phone does not scale past the person holding it. And the marketplace, by design, owns the relationship you spent years earning.

The software built for this trade mostly came from the other direction — heavy ERP systems bent into shape, priced and configured for a factory rather than a yard with eight people and a forklift.
